How to Reset Your iPod..
Every iPod model except for the 3rd generation can be reset by first holding down the menu button, and then while still holding down the menu, hold down the center. Hold them until the iPod resets, it usually takes about 7 seconds. The only difference when resetting the 3rd generation iPod is that you hold the Menu and Play/pause buttons instead of the menu and center. For the iPhone and iPod Touch you hold down the top power button first and then while still holding that down hold the home button. This also should take about 7 seconds.
